Police have arrested a man for sexually harassing four children at Khilgaon in the capital.

The arrested person is Md Sazal Molla, 55, is a rickshaw puller.

Police arrested Sazal on Wednesday night after receiving a complaint from the victims’ family, Farukul Alam, officer in-charge (OC) of Khilgaon Police Station, said.

He said the victims have been sent to the DMCH One-stop crisis centre (OCC) for medical examination.

According to family of the victims, the victims lived with their family in the Uttar Goran area of Khilgaon. The accused also lived besides their house.

The accused lured the girls to his building and tried to sexually abuse them for several days. However, the girls’ family members noticed the incident and intervened.

Later, the victims’ family filed a complaint to the police under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act on Wednesday afternoon.

Sazal will be sent to court with a remand prayer today, the OC said.
